Help a Neighbor

Practical Ways for Your Church to Serve

Churches want to respond when neighbors face practical needs, but knowing where to begin is not always easy. THE PROJECT and THE MEAL offer clear, meaningful opportunities for congregations to serve together, build relationships, and put faith into action.
Through Love INC of Lancaster County, we coordinate opportunities, provide guidance, and connect participating churches with neighbors. Churches bring prayer, leadership, volunteers, practical resources, and a willingness to care for the people they serve.

THE PROJECT

THE PROJECT equips churches with a proven, step-by-step way to serve homeowners through practical home repairs. Love INC coordinates and equips the effort; participating churches organize their teams, complete the work, and build relationships with homeowners.

During the summer of 2026, 20 church teams served 143 homeowners across eight school districts.

Churches can participate according to their capacity by providing:

  • A church coordinator or team leader
  • Volunteers and skilled labor
  • Prayer and encouragement
  • Materials or financial support
  • Personal connection and follow-up with homeowners

Your church does not need to determine every detail before contacting us. Complete the brief connection form, and Jay Rairigh, our Executive Director, will follow up to answer your questions and help you explore how your congregation might participate.

THE MEAL

THE MEAL

THE MEAL gives churches and families a practical way to help neighbors celebrate Thanksgiving. Participating churches organize people to provide meal ingredients while creating an opportunity to meet, encourage, and care for neighbors.

Love INC helps make the connections and provides guidance. Churches bring generosity, prayer, personal contact, and the possibility of a relationship that extends beyond a single delivery.

Churches can participate by providing:

  • A church coordinator or primary contact
  • Families, small groups, or ministry teams
  • Thanksgiving meal ingredients or financial support
  • Prayer and personal encouragement
  • A willingness to meet and care for a neighbor

Complete the brief connection form, and Jay Rairigh, our Executive Director, will follow up to answer your questions and help you explore how your church might participate in THE MEAL
