Connect Your Church Family With Your Neighbors

Is your church interested in participating? Registration is open through Friday, September 27th. All participating churches must register using the link below and plan to send a project leader to one of our upcoming orientation sessions.

Have questions? Contact Steve Styer at sstyer@loveinclancaster.org or 717-735-7540 ext. 7.

Is your church looking for a way to BLESS neighbors and invite them alongside you in life’s journey? Focus on knowing and serving our neighbors-in-need by sharing the ingredients they want in order to have a Thanksgiving meal. Relationships will form. People will receive necessary help around food insecurity and be able to have a holiday meal. We will grow in our ability to BLESS our neighbors.

HOW DOES THE MEAL WORK?

In time for Thanksgiving, friends-from-church BLESS a local neighbor who is experiencing material poverty by giving ingredients for the Thanksgiving Meal. The Meal is unique in that it meets every individual, where they are during Thanksgiving. The Meal provided is unique to each family or individuals needs and preferences.

HOW MANY PEOPLE DOES A CHURCH NEED TO PARTICIPATE?

It only take one! During the fall, gather as many people as are willing to serve. If outreach is in your tribe’s DNA, we can figure out how to scale our approach. We work with your specific church’s parameters and help you frame your approach – no matter how new your church is to the process.

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT FOR MY CHURCH FAMILY?

Love INC will do the gathering and vetting of the needs. Your church family will need to gather a team (no matter the size). Depending on how many families/individuals your team is interested in serving, you’ll call the neighbor in need to understand a little more about what they’d like for a Thanksgiving meal. Then you’ll shop and deliver! Follow up is important and we have a few ideas and recommendations we can share with you or your church might already have follow up steps!

WHAT ARE SOME IMPORTANT DATES I NEED TO KNOW?

The process begins in early fall. New to The Meal and want to learn what it’s all about? Check out an informal info night on September 9th or 12th. Registered churches will be required to attend one of two training info nights on either Monday, October 7th or Thursday, October 10th. More information will be provided once your church registers.

Don't Forget!

During July and August, as fits your churches schedule, friends from church B.L.E.S.S. a local neighbor experiencing material poverty through simple, essential home repairs.

Have questions about any of these ministry opportunities, interested in learning more or want to find out how you can serve?
